PhD Gheorghe LAZAROIU is a Professor at the Faculty of Energy Engineering at the University POLITEHNICA of Bucharest, which he graduated in 1979 and where he obtained his doctorate and didactic degrees. Since 2011, he has been supervisor of doctoral theses in energy engineering and has completed more than 10 doctoral theses in this field.

Key words of expertise: energy, renewable sources, CO2 capture, decarbonization, the use of hydrogen as a new energy vector, mechanical engineering, energetic fuels, environmental engineering, modeling, and dynamic simulation of processes.

Throughout his career, he coordinated as Director or project manager over 40 research projects won through national or international competition. Regarding the impact of his research, Professor LAZAROIU has over 230 scientific publications, of which over 80 are indexed by ISI with a high impact factor (14 articles in top 50% journals), and holds 4 patents (ID: orcid.org/0000- 0003-3077-5192). He is the first author or corresponding author of more than 50% of the journal articles. Professor LAZAROIU has a 13 h-index on Web of Science, 15 h-index on the Scopus database and 17 h-index on Google scholar.

Dr. Lazaroiu is a member of the editorial board of Web of Science and indexed international journals and conferences, a senior member of IEEE and invited plenary speaker at international and national conferences.
